GOETHE-INSTITUT DAMASKUS IM EXIL

ANIMATED TRAILER

The lovely people of mischen Berlin asked me to produce an animated trailer for one of their projects.

As always they did excellent work on the corporate design and I was more than happy to take it from there to develop a trailer that consists of constantly changing images that blend into each other.

In 2012 The Goethe-Institut Damascus was closed due to the crisis situation. In 2016 it reopened in Berlin temporarily. For this »Goethe-Institut Damascus | In Exile« mischen developed a visual identity.

Key element of the graphic design is a blank field which symbolizes on the one hand that the closure of the institute left a void, on the other hand it can be seen as a new space for new encounters and content.

Main color is a bright lime green, which stands out from the corporate green of the Goethe-Institut and thus communicates a state of emergency.
Fragmented typography is placed on the side edges which means that the titles can be read only by connecting and crossing borders.
