This is a project I designed for a monitor wall consisting of 6 HD screens. The media-wall is installed in the foyer of University of Applied Sciences in Potsdam, Germany.
I created a fictional user interface for an imaginary system reboot of the 2×3 monitor wall.
The media-wall is supposed to provide students, professors and visitors with a variety of news and information about the campus, the university and its activities.
This simulated system-reboot is meant to be a small irritation in the everyday playlist.
All the information and graphics shown are based on actual technologies and programs contained in the setup.
As I was looking deeper into the various systems running in the background I wanted to not only add an entertaining item to the playlist but also give a glimpse of what’s under the hood, containing information of what the system is capable of, what databases are accessed, what inputs go into the system etc.
